Yeah if you re-read it he doesn't say they are going to add jumping just that free roaming would be addressed more in the future example: the ability to go more places on the map ect.

If jump was ever added it'd be an emote plain and simple. That's all.

LMAO, yeah because body blocking isn't realistic

In my opinion that's a very RIGHT thing about GW, blocking with your body makes SENSE.

Go back to WoW where you can walk thru people.

Imho, jumping destroys games more that it helps them. Jumping doesn't bring any improvement to the game, but it sure gives some folks weapons to harass others even more.

Give *jump* me *jump* the *jump* stupid *jump* item *jump* lol *jump*. Could get as worse as Conquer Online where all you do is jump. Or Quake: Ughh . Ughh. Ughh. Ughh. Uggh. Ughh. Ughh. Ughh. Ughh.

Bah, no please no. Just keep it out of the game.

I... I hope that's clear enough for you. And yeah, bodyblocking is great. Get used to it or get used to sucking.

all Jeff says is that it would be addressed...

you are all assuming that any kind of jumping would be something all characters would be able to do... WoW / CoH stylee..

however, think about it..

Nothing stopping them from making a SKILL!?.. maybe that new fisty-cuffs type character in C3 will have it as 'jumping' attribute xD

I dont know how it would work but it would be a move that would maybe alow you to jump out of battle without suffering critical strike..

I agree, I doubt they would make it so you can jump and clear a character.. but maybe a pet or a small monster?

One way to simply solve this would be a text filter like the one for WTB/WTS. If you say something in the lines "ZOMG I want to JUMP like in WoW!! lolololol!!11!!1" you get banned from GW for a week (ban length depending on the number of lol-s and !-s in message).

In the real world, you can jump, but nowhere high enough to pass through normal standing bodyblockers... And you can't really jump down ledges because it'll either kill or severly cripple yourself for a long time...

Oh please, no bunnyhopping in GuildWars. This isn't Quake or UT. Jumping really serves no purpose in an MMORPG.

As for jumping; I think it would be a good thing although it would require a massive overhaul of what are frankly quite horrendous physics in guild wars.

Also; I dont think you should be able to walk through other players - a la WoW - but you should be able to walk through spirits. The number of times I have been trapped against one of my own spirits its infuriating. And they r spirits after all.

QFT

If they implement jumping, the next thing you know there will be matrix style jumping of walls then guns and missiles
...echo nuker anyone?

We really don't need jumping because the current mechanics of bodyblocking work quite well and it isn't a FPS.

lol !

in chapter 5 you can change your hair style.

Chapter 6 you can ride mounts

Chapter 7 you get access to all the core features that they made you buy previous chapters for because people are sick of having to buy chapters just to get core features.

Just like how you killed pvp in this game HA! your going to kill gw! good luck with really!

there is a reason gw didnot make it sales! there is a reason that faction didnot sell well.

enabling jumping would be 1) lame (resurgence of the bunny hoppers) and 2) pointless at best, and downright unbalancing (to the point of ruining the game) at worst -- the game was designed to be 2-d and many aspects of the game balance depend on it.

Now... the pathfinding and collision is still an issue :/ sometimes it's inconvenient when you think you slip past a warrior and then a second later find yourself back in the same place with him blocking the way and beating on you.
not to mention that if it was not an intended feature, they wouldn't have put a "Master of Blocking" in the Isle of the Nameless to teach you about body blocking and how to deal with it. It would be hard to believe that body blocking is not an intended feature when they show you how to do it.

I don't think any MMO will makes sales like WoW. No MMO has ever had WoW's kind of sucess, and it would take a lot to dethrone it. GW is not trying to compete head to head with WoW anyways.

GW not making sales? As of the 5th, Factions sits at #4 in the PC sales charts, Prophicies is still at #20

Actually GW: Prophecies was a consistent top 10 in sales as well as Factions is now in the top 10 in sales. True WOW is #1 in sales, but Blizzard has been around like 10+ years longer and is better known.
Last I heard WOW hit 6 million suscribers I bet they are still counting my dormant account from 9 months ago, and many of my other friends. But GW hit the 2 million mark. Pretty good if ya ask me. I bet they both will last a long time and I wish both game companies well.
http://www.gamespot.com/news/index.html there is some facts to back me up, look at the sales at the bottom. Got any facts to back up factions not selling well?
